2024 Broward County Butterfly Chapter of NABA Election Process
Dear BCBC Members,
On May 15, 2024, in accordance with Article VII of the BCBC By Laws, accepted November 9, 2019, President Barbara DeWitt created the 2024 Officer’s Nominating Committee consisting of members Wayne Barnes, Sue Chalmers and Ann Poe. The Committee is charged with putting forth member names to be placed on the ballot for officer positions.
In this regard, on August 1, 2024, the Committee notified me of the following nominees:
President: Barbara DeWitt
Vice President: M. Peggy Strumski
Treasurer: Cynthia Chambers
Secretary: Melissa Lackey
Please be advised that Peggy Strumski has informed me that she wishes to withdraw her name from nomination, which will be done. She will continue to handle all her activities especially her plant silent auction tasks at meetings. According to NABA/BCBC bylaws, it is not necessary to have a vice president.
At this time, you may choose to nominate other candidates by sending the member’s name and the office for which you are nominating them to me at BCBCmail@gmail.com no later than September 20, 2024. If 16 or more members nominate a member, the name will be added to the ballot.
Between September 20-October 4, ballots will be emailed to members. The ballots must be returned by Sunday, October 20, 2024 or you may vote in person at the October 20, 2024 election meeting
