Andee Naccarato

Presentation by Andee Naccarato: Here, There, or Everywhere? Comparing butterfly species diversity in butterfly gardens and nearby natural areas in Naples, Florida.

Bio: Andee Naccarato grew up in Naples, Florida exploring the slash pines and bald cypress around her childhood home. Andee’s passion for butterflies began a decade ago when she had the opportunity to work in the native butterfly house at Naples Botanical Garden. She is a member of the North American Butterfly Association and regularly contributes to butterfly surveys throughout south Florida. Most recently, Andee coordinated a new butterfly count program for three multi-use parks in Collier County. Andee also serves as President of the Naples Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society and gained experience in environmental education by working at Naples Botanical Garden and Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve. She received a master’s degree in Environmental Science from Florida Gulf Coast University, with a special interest in biogeography (why animals and plants occur where they do), which is reflected in her presentation
