Coral Gables Count Results

On June 22, 2019, fifteen Miami Blue members and friends took part in the 25th annual Coral Gables butterfly count. This suburban survey covered six butterfly hotspots within fifteen miles of Sunset Drive (SW 72 Street) and Erwin Drive (SW 47 Avenue): Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, the Kampong, the Charles Deering Estate, Bill Bags Cape Florida State Park, Virginia Key, and parts of Coral Gables. Observers counted 45 species and 1,503 butterflies.
