Chapter Zoom Meeting
February 7, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Dr. Tyson Wepprich (Research associate (Post Doc) at Oregon State University ), will speak on “Insect Declines Make Headlines, but what Do We Really Know?”
Amid worries of global insect declines, observations by community scientists provide the best data to assess widespread trends. Butterfly monitoring across Ohio over the last 20 years shows how different species have responded to environmental changes, especially climate warming. Declines in common species could be a new target for conservation because of their impact on the ecosystem services provided by insects.
A short business meeting will follow the program. Miami Blue NABA members will vote on the 2021 slate of officers and committee chairs.
