The Dade Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society has asked us to join them for a trip to Owaissa Bauer. We’ll visit this Miami-Dade park to see pine rockland in glorious restoration, along with early summer wildflowers. Jane Dozier, Environmental Resource Project Supervisor at Miami-Dade County Parks Natural Areas Management and Roger Hammer, former Naturalist with Miami-Dade Parks are expected to join us to share their knowledge of the park.
Address: Owaissa Bauer is at 17001 SW 264 Street (Bauer Drive) between US 1 and Krome. They are asking us to park along 264 Street, not in the driveway.
Note: Hattie Bauer is closed.
Bring: Sun Protection, water, binoculars if you are interested in butterflying, and lunch if you are interested in picnicking afterwards.
