SUMMARY:Broward County Butterfly Chapter NABA Spring Butterfly Counts
DESCRIPTION:Hi Broward County Butterfly Chapter of NABA Members and Friends\, \n \nThis is a reminder that our Butterfly Chapter NABA Spring Butterfly Counts are coming up May 7th for the South Circle and May 15th for the North Circle. \n\nWe have leaders for all locations and you are welcome to meet-up with them\, if you have the time and inclination.  It’s always helpful to have participants who may help spot butterflies.  No need to ID the species; we always have someone to take photos.  So please simply come along to enjoy the walk and learn about the process. \n\nIf you think you want to attend\, please make a note of the leaders names below and email/text them to set up a time and place to meet.  We typically start the morning counts around 9:00AM and the afternoon counts start around 1:30PM.  You can come for all or part of any count. \n\nAs you know\, average temps in May are in the 80’s so you may want to use sunscreen\, wear a long-sleeved shirt and a hat.  Waterproof shoes and bug spray might be a good call as well.  Hmmm\, sounds like fun! \n\nI hope you decide to come along. I’ve been compiling the Broward County sightings and submitting the information to NABA for 18 years now; and it feels good to know this information can be accessed by scientists and ecologists to monitor the health of our butterflies and make policy recommendations\, when needed.  If you decide to count in your yard\, you can also submit that information to me and I’ll include it with the circle counts.  Let me know and I’ll get you started. \n\nBest regards\, \n\nBarbara DeWitt\, Count Compiler \n  \nMAY 7\, 2022 \nSOUTH CIRCLE COUNT SITESLEADERCONTACT NUMBER \n\nBroward County Markham Park  \nCynthia Chambers954-707-2308 \n16001 W.
