SUMMARY:Celebrating World Wildlife Day at Calderon Pinelands
DESCRIPTION:Come visit and help our Chapter celebrate World Wildlife Day at the Calderon Pinelands on Sunday\, March 3rd\, from 9:00 am to Noon. \nThe Miami Blue Chapter of NABA is celebrating a 3 year community and innovation partnership with the County’s Environmentally Endangered Lands (EEL) Program in reclaiming pine rocklands that were previously destroyed by overdevelopment or invasive plant life. \nThe EEL Program manages conservation and preservation lands. Conservation lands are managed in such a manner that provides for passive recreational uses such as observational nature study from authorized access points and trails. Conservation lands consist of sensitive environmental resources that make Miami-Dade County globally-unique and provide opportunities for the public to enjoy and experience wetlands\, natural coastline and imperiled forests. Some of the native plants and animals on EEL Preserves are endemic\, in that they are found nowhere else in the world. \nFor more info on the EEL program\, click HERE.
