SUMMARY:Shark Valley NABA Count Sat. July 14\,2018
DESCRIPTION:Hold the date for Saturday\, July 14 for our Shark Valley NABA Count.  Come join us for the Miami Blue Chapter\, NABA butterfly count.  Although hot\, this is a wonderful opportunity to find unusual butterflies not seen elsewhere in Miami. We will meet at the Shark Valley Visitors Center parking lot on Saturday\, July 14 at 8:30 am.  We will walk for several hours\, so bring lots of water\, hat\, bug spray and binoculars if you have them. Cameras are helpful as well. \nShark Valley is about 25 minutes west of Krome Avenue on the south side of the Tamiami Trail (SW 8th Street). \nThis is the 13th year for this count which provides critical data for scientists to study populations of butterflies from year to year. \nThere is a fee of $3. per person which goes to NABA.

DESCRIPTION:Hold the date for the annual Pinecrest (Loop Road) NABA count Saturday\, July 21. \nLoop Road is one of the most enchanting areas in South Florida that we survey butterflies for NABA.  Come join us on Saturday\, July 21\, 2018 at 8:30 am.  We meet at the eastern end of Loop Road where it intersects with the Tamiami Trail (SW 8th Street). and is approximately 40 minutes west of Krome Avenue. We will car pool from this location in air conditioned cars!! We drive for a short duration\, stop and survey the road side\, then continue this routine.  We plan to finish around 5 pm\, but if you can’t make it the whole day\, that is fine. \nBring water\, a bag lunch\, snacks\, bug spray and sun screen. Binoculars and a camera are helpful. \nThere is a $3. fee which goes to NABA.
