DESCRIPTION:Join us for our 1st Shark Valley NABA count on Saturday March 7th\, 2026. There will be two teams covering our Shark Valley circle. \nTeam #1 will meet at the Shark Valley Visitors Center at 9:00 am and will cover both sides of the park\, then proceed east on US 41 (Tamiami Trail)\, finishing around 1:00 pm. To sign up\, please contact Linda Evans at lmemia@aol.com . \nTeam #2 will meet on US 41 at the L67 canal “pump station” at 9:00 am\, approximately five miles east of the Shark Valley Visitors Center entrance\, finishing around 3:30-4:00 pm. To sign up please contact Dennis Olle at DennisOlle@me.com. \nMake sure to dress appropriately for the environment\, bring mosquito spray\, sunscreen\, water and a lunch. \n* * OPEN TO ALL – EXPERIENCE NOT NEEDED * *\nProfessionals\, casual butterfly enthusiasts\, photographers\, children of all ages\, experience in identifying butterflies NOT required. DESCRIPTION:The Dade Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society (DCFNPS) invites you to its 28th Native Plant Day \nTheir annual public outreach and education day will have activities for all ages. There will be speaker programs including our Dennis Olle and Barbara McAdam\, guided nature walks\, children’s activities\, raffles\, book sales\, and displays by environmentally friendly groups including our Miami Blue Chapter\, along with a great selection of native plants for sale. \nNative Plant Day is a low-key event designed to engage the community by sharing the many benefits of native plants and the significant role they play in our SE Florida ecosystems. DESCRIPTION:Come join us on Sunday\, March 29th at 9:00 am to noon\, while we hunt for the rare Florida Duskywing in the Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park and Campground. \nWe will meet at 9:00 am in the parking area on SW 127th Avenue\, just North of SW 184th Street. (If traveling West on 184th St\, you will turn right onto 127th Ave\, and the parking area will be on your left.) \nLinda Evans will be leading the walk. Please register with Linda at lmemia@aol.com if you will be joining us on the hunt for the Florida Duskywing.
