Presentation by Kimberly Heise: Painting Southeast Florida’s Native Plants.

Kimberly Heise

Bio: Kim Heise is a watercolor artist living and working between Kendal and Delray Beach. Her goal is to celebrate local native plants, animals and their relationships, from the well-loved Florida panther to the small herbaceous plants that often fall under the radar. She combines hyper-realism and accuracy of scientific illustration with the touch of fine art. From 2017-2019 she focused primarily on the rare and unique Miami pine rocklands habitat, and from 2021 to the present she has been painting common “weeds” that host butterflies with Bound by Beauty. In between she has painted trail signs, maps and logos and collaborated with many environmental organizations throughout the state.
