Richmond Pineland Field Trip Coming Soon

Sometime soon, a Miami Blue Chapter field trip will take us to public areas in the Richmond Pineland. This forest is the largest remaining Miami-Dade County pine rockland outside Everglades National Park, and is home to common and rare butterflies, such as the Florida Duskywing and Bartram’s Scrub Hairstreak. It is also home to entities such as Zoo Miami (Metrozoo), Larry and Penny Thompson Park, Gold Coast Railroad Museum, and a U. S. Coast Guard station.
