The Miami Blue Chapter of NABA will be holding their 1st Quarterly Meeting of 2023 and election of officers on Sunday, February 5th, 2023 and will be held at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.
Our guest speaker will be Daniela Champney from Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden’s “Connect to Protect Network”. Her presentation will be “Planting Pine Rockland plants to help save this ecosystem and attract pollinators.”
Brief abstract: The Connect to Protect Network (CTPN) has its focus on the pine rocklands – our fragmented, endangered ecosystem, which many people have never even heard about. Members of CTPN plant pine rockland plants in their yards, attracting butterflies and other pollinators. In this presentation you will find out what you can do beyond planting in your own yard. In addition, we will talk about our project of promoting the locustberry to help bring back the threatened Florida Duskywing butterfly.
This meeting and speaker will be in-person and also live-streamed via Zoom. Please see below for details on how to JOIN IN PERSON or JOIN VIA ZOOM.
Contributions of finger food and soft drinks for the refreshments table will be appreciated by all.
