Pinecrest/Loop Road Count

The Pinecrest/Loop Road count surveys the Loop Road section of Big Cypress National Preserve. Counters will car-pool. This park-and-ride field trip alternates between short walks and air-conditioned drives to the next stop. Contact Linda Evans or Jaeson Clayborn to participate.
We will meet at the corner of US 41 and the eastern end of Loop Road at 9 am on Saturday, July 27, 2019. There is a grassy area next to an artesian well. We will car pool from this point west on the beautiful Loop Road which travels through the Everglades. We drive for a few miles, get out of our air conditioned cars and count Everglades species, then proceed to the next stop. The trip lasts until 5 pm. Bring bug spray, plenty of water, lunch, hat and comfortable walking shoes.
