New Butterfly Book

The Last Butterflies: A Scientist’s Quest to Save a Rare and Vanishing Creature, by Nick Haddad. Princeton University Press, 2019.

This recent publication includes chapters on the Miami Blue and Schaus’ Swallowtails, as well as other rare U.S. butterflies and one common butterfly–the Monarch. Each chapter traces a butterfly from its first scientific discovery, through its decline, to conservation efforts to effect its recovery.
