Hurrying through the Everglades
Driving the speed limit on the main park road gets you to Flamingo as quickly as possible, but all too often to the peril of the wildlife. So many creatures become roadkill.

Miami Blue president Dennis Olle sent a Letter-to-Superintendent-Ramos after a rare (for here) Snow Goose was hit and killed near Paurotis Pond. The letter cites two studies on roadkill in national parks, especially Everglades NP:
